Director General of the European Space Agency Wörner will give a public lecture on September 15th
A public lecture “Driving Space 4.0 – an enabler for Entrepreneurship and Innovation” will be held by Johann-Dietrich Wörner, the Director General of the European Space Agency (ESA).
Lecture will be held in the assembly hall of the TUT on September 15th at 11:00-12:00. The lecture will be in English. All those interested are welcome to attend.
Space 4.0 is a hot topic in the space sector, just like Industry 4.0 in the industry. The lecture will provide answers to questions concerning the nature of Space 4.0 and Estonia’s potential in this process that is taking place at the forefront of science and technology; we will find out whether an Estonian astronaut would be a fictional character or a potential habitant of a colony on the Moon and someone who the ESA would want to hire?
The European Space Agency, which was formed 51 years ago and nowadays brings together 22 European countries, is the only organisation in the world that conducts transnational space cooperation. Estonia has been a full member of this unique international organisation since September 1st, 2015.
The last decade has brought along a paradigm shift in the space sector. Activities that were previously controlled by the state are moving increasingly to the private sector, the development of technology has given an abundance of opportunities to small enterprises (and small countries).
