A high-profile New Zealand diplomat visited TSEBA
On 21 October 2013, Mrs. Jan Bailey, Deputy Head of New Zealand Mission in Germany, paid a visit to TSEBA. Kindly accepting invitation from TSEBA’s Department of International Relations, Mrs. Bailey included TUT in the list of places to visit during her first trip to Tallinn and en route to the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. While at TSEBA, the high-profile foreign diplomat met with Mr. Vlad Vernygora, the faculty’s lecturer and a New Zealand national, who introduced her to the most recent developments on introduction of Asia-Pacific Studies at the Department of International Relations. Mrs. Bailey was glad to find out that more and more of our students are getting interested in conducting serious academic-level research on Asia-Pacific integration and similar topics. The meeting concluded with a strong mutually voiced statement on the need to establish a working partnership-type linkage between the Berlin-based New Zealand Embassy and TSEBA.
