CESAER Annual Meetings 2019 in Paris
CESAER (Conference of European Schools for Advanced Engineering Education and Research), founded in 1990, is the European non-profit association that unites 53 leading universities of science & technology from 25 countries.
CESAER Annual Meetings (CAM) 2019 were hosted by Université Paris-Saclay - CentraleSupélec from 16 to 18 October 2019. The central theme of the CAM 2019 was “Novel approaches in S&T education and training tackling the challenges of the 21st Century”, which culminated with a high-level conference on the topic.
Furthermore, CESAER CAM 2019 offered an attractive mix of meetings, parallel workshops, and plenary sessions on various topics, such as mobility, research data management, European universities initiative, etc. Therefore, CAM 2019 did not only provided useful information, reflection, and analysis but also many opportunities for discussion, peer learning, and networking.
Delegates and Observers were invited to CESAER 32nd General Assembly on 18 October 2019. General Assembly elected Rik Van de Walle, Rector of Ghent University, as the new President of CESAER. Van de Walle was elected for a two-year term from 2020-2021 and will chair a newly elected Board composed of twelve Directors. General Assembly also adopted a position of the future of the European Research Area.
Jaak Aaviksoo, Rector; Hendrik Voll, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs; and Triin Bõstrov, International Cooperation Coordinator, represented TalTech at the event.
Next CESAER Annual Meetings and the 33rd General Assembly will take place in October 2020 at Lund University.
