Pavel Starkov, Ph.D.
Dr Pavel Starkov lõpetas Lasnamäe Gümnaasiumi (end. Tln 12. Kk) kuldmedaliga, Tartu Ülikooli cum laude, omandas magistrikraadi Imperial College'ist ja doktorikraadi keemias UCL'ist. Hiljem töötas ta teadurina DFCI/Harvard'is ja Iisraelis. Alates 2016, veab Pavel noort iseseisvat uurimisrühma TalTech'is. Ta arendab uusi materjale energia muundumiseks, silmas pidades vesinikumajanduse võimalusi, ning arendab uusi tehnoloogiaid keemilises bioloogias.
Pavel joined Tallinn University of Technology in 2016 on being awarded a highly competitive Estonian Research Council Starting Grant (the only one awarded to TalTech across the Natural Sciences & Engineering panel).
Pavel was born in Tallinn, Estonia, obtained his BSc cum laude in Natural Sciences from the University of Tartu, MRes in Biomolecular Science from Imperial College London — research project with Prof Alan Armstrong and Dr David Mann — and his Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2011 from University College London (UCL) under supervision of Prof Tom Sheppard. Prior to completing his Ph.D., he joined Prof Ulrike Eggert at Dana–Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School and later relocated to Israel for a research stay with Prof Rafal Klajn at the Weizmann Institute of Science and a fully-fledged postdoctoral position with Prof Ilan Marek at Technion–Israel Institute of Technology.
Opportunities
Please check our opportunities section. You are also welcome to inquire how to secure funding for a Post-Doc position.
Our research programme is currently funded by the Estonian Research Council and TalTech Young Investigator Award. We take part in EU COST Action CA15135: Multi-target paradigm for innovative ligand identification in the drug discovery process (MuTaLig) and CA18224: Green Chemical Engineering Network towards upscaling sustainable processes (GreenerIng)
For ordering and cataloguing purposes, we use an excellent solution developed by LabSuit.
