The Baltic-German University Liaison Office invites you to the symposium “Service Design in Logistics”, which will take place on May 7th from 13.00 till 17.00 at the Tallinn University of Technology, room X-413 (Akadeemia tee 3, Tallinn). The symposium is an event in the framework of saksa kevad (German spring).
The principle of service design offers new approaches for the creation of innovation and client-orientated offers in the service sector. The symposium tries to apply some of those ideas to the logistics sector. Within this symposium experts of different fields, such as logistic, design, and economy, will come together to exchange their views on the current situation of the logistic sector. The symposium addresses to students, researchers, and experts, who are interested in themes like logistic, business administration, and design.
The symposium will be opened by Ieva Pranka (Director of the Baltic-German University Liaison Office). Furthermore Miriam Ströbel (First Secretary, German Embassy Tallinn) will address a few words of welcome to the audience. Afterwards there will be presentations by experts from Estonia, Latvia and German: Külliki Tafel-Viia (Estonian Institute of Future Studies) will present the topic Service Design: Current Status and Perspectives and Prof. Dr. Hans-Dietrich Haasis (University of Bremen and Director of the Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics) will talk about New Service Trends in Logistics. Furthermore, there will be a presentation about Maritime Logistics in Estonia by Prof. Dr. Erik Terk (Director of the Estonian Institute of Future Studies) as well as about Logistics Services Design on the Basis of Modelling held by Prof. Dr. Irina Yatskiv, who works for the Transport and Telecommunication Institute Riga. After a coffee break Prof. Dr. Rünno Lumiste from the Tallinn University of Technology will held a speech about Service Design and Export and Prof. Dr. Gunnar Prause (Tallinn University of Technology) will present Design Management for „SME”.
After the presentations there will be a roundtable discussion Service Design in Logistic – Outlook and Perspectives led by Gunnar Prause.
