The highest decision-making body of TalTech is the University Board, which shall be responsible for the development of the University and for making important economic, financial and property decisions.
The University Board has 11 members. Five members shall be appointed by the University Senate, one member by the Estonian Academy of Sciences and five by the Minister of Education and Research, on the basis that most of the persons nominated by him shall be representatives of business or production professional or trade associations, and that the majority of the members of the Board are non-university staff.
The Board members shall be approved for five years by an order of the Government of the Republic of Estonia. The Chairman and the Deputy Chairman of the Board shall be elected at the meeting.
